Get Paid to Ghostwrite

What is ghostwriting and how do you get paid to do it?

Basically ghostwriting is where you write for someone else, and they are allowed to put their name on it. This is a job you can do in the comfort of your own home through the use of a computer. And to get started there is hardly any start up fee. This is a job you can do as a part-time job, and eventually work it up all the way to being full-time.

These are a few traits you will need to exhibit to be good at ghostwriting:

Organization
You have to track all the requests for writing from each person, keep them in order and do them in the order they are received. You also need to keep detailed contact lists for each client and charge the correct amount for each assignment.

Motivation and Consistency

You have to be able to write even if you are not in the mood to write. You have to keep the various promises you make to your customers such as a 48 hour guarantee or completing a large order. Are you a person who is deadline driven, or do you find them to be very bothersome?

Good With Providing a Service
Ghostwriting is considered a service, is performing such a service something you will enjoy? You will have your own business, but you are not really your own boss. You are constantly sticking to your customers requests and you have an agreed upon timeline to follow.

Quality Writing Skills and Enjoy Writing

If writing is something you enjoy, you will probably be good at ghostwriting. While it can be good to work on your writing skills, you should already have some natural talent. If it takes hours to write a simple 400 word article, and you feel like you cannot focus and everything is jumbled, then you will probably not be good at ghostwriting.

If you have the correct traits and think ghostwriting is for you, these are some thing you should do next to get started:

1. Learn about Ghostwriting. Do some research online about ghostwriting as a business and learn everything you can. Always limit yourself though as you do not want to spend months learning how then never get started.

2. Research Charges. Look around and see what other ghost writers are charging for their reports, ebooks, email fodder, blog posts, and other sized articles. You can use that to find out the rate you charge for services. Starting on the low end might be a good idea until your customer base is built, then you can slowly raise your prices.

3. Start a portfolio. Much like an artist has a portfolio, you will need a portfolio of your best articles for people to judge you on to secure writing jobs. Put together some of your best samples then make them easily available to clients to get a feel for your work.

Ghostwriting is a great way to get paid to write from home. If you have the aforementioned qualities, you have a good chance of becoming a successful ghostwriter.
